Do you have water infiltration and dampness in your home? The root of the problem could be in the roof of your house.
Due to the weather conditions such as rain, wind and cold, roofs have a greater tendency to deteriorate over time. If the roof isn’t properly maintained and designed, these consequences will tend to be anticipated.
And that’s why this client asked Renovar Ideias to help him in the total remodelling of the roof since it was quite damaged and it was necessary for us to proceed with the subsequent interior renovation.
In this case, the solution we found was the installation of an exterior covering made up of slats, subtile and ceramic roof tiles, which provides greater thermal and acoustic comfort, controlling the humidity in your home and protecting your roof.
The wood used is treated pine because it results in less damage and greater resistance. The lifespan of the wooden structure increases due to the ventilation that exists between the subtile and the structure.
The subtile is a thin membrane and due to its high impermeability it works as a barrier to the entry of water, preventing dampness and water infiltration in your home as well as ensuring high ventilation between the various elements of the roof, increasing the durability of the entire solution.
As this is a solution that drastically reduces the probability of damage due to water entering the roof, it allows you to reduce the risk associated with your multi-risk home insurance, so you could discuss reducing this annual cost with your insurance company. Lowering both the insurance and the ten-year maintenance costs of the roof.
The tile, compared to other solutions that have been on the market for a shorter time, such as sandwich panels, has a high performance and durability, high resistance, requires low maintenance, so the factories guarantee 45 years of warranty.
And the thermal insulation? That’ll be something for a next post.
